25th Senior Women's NFC: Bala treble fires Manipur 4-0 past West Bengal

IMPHAL, Sep 12 : Ng Bala Devi hit a treble to help Manipur romp past West Bengal by 4-0 goals in their opening Group G fixture today at the 25th Senior Women's National Football Championship which is underway in Arunachal Pradesh.
Striker Bala opened up the scoring in the 16th minute before putting Manipur 2-0 up against West Bengal in the 29th minute with another brilliant strike. The onslaught continued with H Daya scoring the team third in the 36th minute and made it 3-0 till the break.
Bala completed her treble in the 47th minute after the team resumed their attack right after the change of the ends.  The goal proved to be the last one as the State team took their feet off the saddle afterward while the West Bengal team struggled to find a face saving goal which did not yield any positive result.
Manipur will face Tripura in their next group fixture on September 15.
The day also saw Tripura kick off their Group campaign with a 12-0 demolishing of Rajasthan.
