Manipur bag 6 medals at 10th Mini National Fencing Championship

IMPHAL, Aug 7 : Manipur's mini fencing teams have so far collected 6 medals, including 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze at the 4th Children Cup and 10th Mini National Fencing Championship-2019 which kicked off on Tuesday at Maharashtra Divisional Sports Complex, Panchvati Nashik under the supervision of Fencing Association of India.
State's girls sabre team consisting of P Ambika Chanu, Priya Ningombam, Nancy Ningthoujam and Pebam Babydiana emerged to best to win a gold medal before boys' epee team comprising of A Thomba, Sh Jenith, K Dollar and Ningombam Robertson bagged the second gold medal.
Girls' foil team comprising of Giti Langoljam, Ak Deviyarani, Lanchenbi Haobam and T Mangalleibi however  went down in the final to settle for silver medal.
Boys' sabre team which was represented by Th Sheitananda, Shaolin Ningombam, Chinglemba Toijam and S Jemikanta also bite the dust in the final and had to contend with the silver medal. The girls' epee team of N Tamphasana, Deviya Ningthoujam, Thokchom Benao and Ningombam Jesie and boys' foil team of Khoisnam Rabi, Sanjenbam Bicky, N Malemnganba and L Manaoton were  able to claim a bronze medal each for the State.
