State strength lifters feted

IMPHAL, Aug 6 : State strength lifting athletes who participated and won medals at the 1st Eastern India Strength Lifting and Inclined Bench Press Championship held recently in Sikkim from July 12 to 14 were felicitated today by Manipur Strength Lifting Association at the residence of P Saratchandra, MLA Moirang AC, who is also the president of Manipur Strength Lifting Association.
P Saratchandra, L Umakanta Singh-vice president of Manipur Strength Lifting Association, W Ibomcha Singh-joint secretary Manipur Strength Lifting Association graced the programme as dignitaries who also handed out presents and mementoes to the athletes for making laurels to the State.
It may be recalled that K Mangaleima (58 kg) won two bronze medals, one in the strengthlifting and another in the inclined bench press events while Raj Shree Kangujam (72 kg), Amakcham Mathesana (80 kg and above) bagged a bronze medals in the strength lifting events. Amakcham Mathensana also won a silver medal in the inclined bench press event
