TMPNADO appeals

IMPHAL, Aug 30: Thoubal Multipurpose Project Neglected Area Agricultural Development Organisation (TMPNADO) had a meeting with the Chief Minister and top officials in the presence of Lamlai AC MLA Ksh Biren Singh today. The Chief Minister has agreed to the demand of the TMPNADO to declare Lamlai as drought affected area, said Telem Dara Singh secretary TMPNADO today.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, T Dara said that the Chief Minister has also gave his assurance to provide the drought affected farmers of the State with alternative crops like wheat, maize/pea etc in Rabi season.
The CM also assured irrigation water facilities in the 12,140 hectares of paddy land of Lamlai area.
He also cautioned that the body (TMPNADO) would launch intense agitation if Government fails to deliver its assurances.
