Rijiju to arrive

IMPHAL, Aug 28: Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju will visit Imphal on September 2 to review the Aspirational  District Programme and to inspect the condition of the National Sports University.
According to an official source, the Union Minister will review the projects taken up at Chandel (which is among one of the 112 districts of the country selected), under the said programme.
The Minister will arrive at Imphal from Guwahati via helicopter and then head to Chandel, where he will review the programme as well as chair a meeting of the Administrative Secretaries concerned.
The source continued that on September 3, the Minister will visit the site of the NSU at Koutruk as well as the administrative block and hostels at Khuman Lampak.
Stating that the Union Minister will oversee the sports infrastructure at Khuman Lampak, the source added that later, a meeting will be convened at Old Secretariat where the Union Minister will discuss sports related issues of Manipur with the officials concerned, before leaving Imphal.
