By Our Sports Reporter IMPHAL, Aug 20 : Manipur have so far amassed 5 medals including 3 gold, one silver and one bronze medal at the Junior National Pencak Silat National Championship which is underway from August 17 at Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjab. S Jona Chanu bagged the first gold medal for the State in the 42 kg category while A Jenisha settled for the bronze medal in the 39 to 41 kg category as she was forced to retired in the third round due to injury. Wakambam Sunilsethy won the second gold medal for the State in the 51-55 kg tending event for boys while Thounaojam Rita bagged the third gold in the 48-51 kg tending event for girls. Thongbam Anjali won the silver medal in the same event for 55-59 kg. Meanwhile three referees from the State have attended the National Referee Seminar and cleared Physical test to earn Grade-II and Grade-III licence. Laishram Ranjit and N Robindro were able to get the Grade III licence while Boynao Singh earned the Grade-II licence.
