Our Correspondent Agartala, Aug 20: For the first time, traditional musical art form popularly known as Jalakeli Pala was presented by Imasi Foundation, Imphal in collaboration with Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura at the historic Temple of Sri Sri Radhamadhav Debata Bari at Agartala today. "Jalakeli Pala " was introduced by Manipur Maharaja Nara Singha in 1845. Since then it is sung on the occasion of Budha Purnima. The programme at Agartala was started by offering flower bouquets to the portraits of Maharani Ratnamanjuri (daughter of Devendrajit Maharaja) and Maharaja Birbikram Kishore Manikya, (King of Tripura). Imasi Foundation's L Somi Roy gave introductory speech about Jalakeli Pala. Rajmata Bibhu Kumari Devi, Maharajkumari Pranja Debbarman and other royal dignitaries attended the programme.
