Manipur team head to Nashik for Mini Fencing Nationals

IMPHAL, Aug 2 : A 28 member team of Manipur Fencing Association including 24 athletes and 4 officials have departed Imphal for the 10th Mini National Fencing Championship 2018-19 due to be held at Divisional Sports Complex, Panchavati, Nashik, Maharashtra from August 6 to 8.
Khoisnam Rajiv, Sanjenbam Bicky Meitei, N Malemnganba Meitei and L Manaoton Singh will be representing the foil team for boys at the championship.
A Thomba Meitei, Sh Zenith Meitei, K Dronel Singh and Ningombam Roberthson will feature in the epee team event while Th Seitananda, Saolin Ningombam, Chinglemba Toijam and S Jemikanta were named in the sabre team.
Khoisnam Rajiv and Sanjembam Bikcy will also be taking part in the mini boys' individual events while A Thomba and Sh Zenith will take part in epee individual events.
Th Seitananda and Saolin Ningombam on the other hand will try their lucks in the sabre individual events.
Geeti Langoljam, Ak Deviyarani Devi, Lanchenbi Haobam and T Mangaleibi are in the mini girls' foil team whereas N Tamphasana, Dibiya Ningthoujam, Thokchom Benao, Ningombam Jazzy will represent the State in the epee team event.
P Ambika Chanu, Priya Ningombam, Nancy Ningthoujam and Pebam Baby Diana Devi on the other hands formed the sabre team.
Geeti Langoljam and Ak Deviyarani Devi will also take part in the individual foil events at the same championship while N Tamphasana and Dibiya Ningthoujam will feature in the epee individual events. P Ambika Chanu and Priya Ningombam will also be taking part in the sabre individual events.
The team were led by Chingsomba N and Sh Alex as coaches; L Sushilkumar and S Santa Singh as managers.
