KVK Chandel distributes seeds

KVK Chandel hosted a one day capacity building and input distribution programme on “Scientific cultivation of high yielding variety blackgram under rainfed condition for doubling farmers income under NEH Component” at its training hall today.
The programme was organised under the sponsorship of ICAR – Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology, Ranchi, Jharkhand in collaboration with KVK Chandel, ICAR Manipur Centre, Monsangpantha, Chandel. Around 30 farmers from Chandel and Chakpikarong blocks attended the programme, said a statement of KVK Chandel.
Speaking at the event, Dr Deepak Singh, Sr Scientist and Head, KVK Chandel elaborated the importance of successful cultivation of high yielding variety blackgram specially to cope with the drought like situation affecting the farmers in Chandel district and doubling their income.
Dr Kl Levish Chongloi, ACTO (Agronomy) spoke on the scientific cultivation of growing blackgram.
Inputs like blackgram and ricebean were distributed to the farmers.
