AISF condemns

IMPHAL, Jul 29: Strongly condemning the death of Ningthoujam Babysana inside the boarding of Standard Robarth Hr Secondary School on July 18, the All India Students' Federation (AISF) has demanded the State Government to bring a swift conclusion to the issue and deliver justice to the deceased as the matter will negatively impact the lives of the students of the said school if it keeps on dragging any further.
A press release issued by the State Secretary, Manipur State Council of AISF mentioned that a State executive meeting of AISF was held at its office at BT road today during which the incident was strongly condemned and a demand was raised for the Government and the authorities concerned to solve the case at the earliest.
AISF further resolved that it will offer full support to the JAC as well as various CSOs and student unions in the drive for getting justice for Babysana and alleged that it will not be far-fetched to claim that the rapid rise in occurrence of such unfortunate incidents, is due to the lack of proper emphasis by the Government to the education sector.
A two minute silence was also observed in honour of Babysana during the meeting. On the other hand, during the meeting, Leitanthem Bebekson Singh, Naorem Rebidash Singh and Moirangthem Bidyashor Singh were elected as the president, State secretary and assistant secretary of the AISF Manipur State Council.
It further informed that the 83rd foundation day of ISF will be observed on August 12 at Irawat Bhawan.
