Meeting on Aug 3

IMPHAL, Jul 27: The State Government is planning to deliberate ways to implement the ban issued by the High Court of Manipur on sand and stone quarrying in the rivers of the State.
According to an official source, a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister will be held on August 3, regarding the issue and the meeting will include officials from Industries Department, Forest Department, Water Resources Department, DCs, SPs DIC Managers. The meeting will deliberate on how to transform the Court  directive into action, roles and responsibilities of the Departments as well as decided which Department to monitor the situation if the Government does identify legal sand and stone quarrying sites.
