IMPHAL, Jul 19: Convenor of All Manipur Under Five Ton Passenger Service L Somorendro today appealed authorities concerned not to give bail to persons who were arrested for allegedly registering the Transport and Drivers Council (TDC) with the State's Trade Union after forging the letter head and seal of the TDC, the apex body of transport societies, associations and drivers unions.
It may be mentioned that police had arrested Laishram Chandrakumar and Laishram Ratankumar of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi Thokchom Leikai yesterday. They were produced before Court and further remanded into police custody.
Appealing not to give bail to the two, Somorendro further urged the authorities concerned to nab all others involved in the case.
Even though TDC is not a registered body, all constituent bodies are registered bodies.
The incident has maligned the image of the council, he said urging authorities to take strong actions against all involved.
TDC has been working tirelessly for the welfare of the transport bodies and unions and the State as a whole by taking active part in almost all major issues, he said cautioning that various bodies under the council may take up stringent agitation including hands down strike if appropriate strong actions are not taken up against the persons involved.
