Further remand

IMPHAL, Jun 24: Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal has remanded Naorem Dijamani (67) s/o (L) Basudeva of Singjamei Thokchom Leikai to further judicial custody till July 8 today.
It may be mentioned that the same Court had rejected the bail application filed by Naorem Dijamani, who is the prime suspect in the murder of his wife Naorem Rekha (mother of renowned fashion designer Robert Naorem) on May 29, and instead had remanded him to judicial custody at Sajiwa Jail from June 10.
Dijamani was produced before the Court from Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa for his routine appearance in connection with the murder case and during the proceeding, Dijamani complained of having anxiety and weakness due to being a diabetic.
After hearing his complaints, the Court directed the SP of Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa to let him get a medical checkup and treatment including, a diabetes checkup by a specialist and necessary treatment at JNIMS.
The Court, then remanded Dijamani to further judicial custody till July 8. His family members were also present during the proceeding today.
It may also be mentioned that Naorem Dijamani was arrested by Singjamei police on May 31 as the prime suspect in the murder case of his wife and was lodged in police custody for 20 days, before he was remanded to judicial custody from June 10 for further investigation of the case.
