65th NSG U-14 Boys Football Manipur kick off group campaign with 6-0 thrashing of Uttarakhand

IMPHAL, Nov 4 : Manipur opened up Group A campaign with an emphatic 6-0 victory against Uttarakhand as the 65th National School Games U-14 Boys Football Tournament kicked off today at Main Stadium Khuman Lampak.
The tournament participated by 32 teams clubbed into 8 Groups is being hosted by Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur under the supervision of School Games Federation of India.
In the Group A opener of the tournament, N Nelando and Monish scored two goals each to help Manipur seal a huge 6-0 win against Uttarakhand. Manipur dominated the possession right from the beginning and took 11 minutes to take the lead with N Nelando making a fine finish before Uttarakhand's Rudransh conceded an own to heap its own misery. Jamson then extended Manipur's lead to 3-0 in the 19th minute before Monish opened up his account two minutes latter.
Nelando continued to maintain his composure and helped Manipur take a 5-0 lead while Monish struck his second and the team's last in the 50th minute.
In the Group B opener, Assam romped to a 4-0 win against Chhattisgarh as Vivek Boro hit a brace (11', 43') while Chintu Balgari (5') and Krishnu Mech (30') netted a goal each.
Meanwhile in a Group E clash, Arbeend finished with 5 goals to help Chandigarh decimate Rajasthan 10-0. Rohit also netted twice (41', 60') in this huge win for Chandigarh while his team mates, Bobby Singh (27'), Gourav Raj (28') and Surjakanta Raj (40') added a goal each.
In the Group C  opener, Jharkhand romped to a 12-0 win against CBSE, WSO as Vinay Oraon shone with 5 goals (29', 31', 34', 55', 59') and Deepak Kumar hit thrice (18', 44', 48'). Dharmendra Araon also netted twice (15', 25') for the winning side besides Jitendra Bhagat (46') and Krisana Toppo (47') getting on the scoresheet.
Delhi were held to a 1-1 draw by Goa in another Group C fixture of the day.
In a Group D fixture, Rohit Yadav (11') and Avendra Singh (54') scored a goal each to help Madhya Pradesh down Tamil Nadu 2-0 in a one sided match.
In another clash of the same group, Swagat (52', 53', 56') and Farooque (11', 34') led the scoring to hand Uttar Pradesh a 8-0 win against IBSO. The other goals for the winning side were collected by Tauseef (8'), Ramu (22') and Bhasker Kshetri (39').
The group F opener staged at practise field 2, Khuman Lampak saw, West Bengal cruise to a 7-0 win against Lakshadweep to open up the campaign riding on a treble by Ankur Bishwas (15', 35', 52') after Avijit Bakman opened up the scoring early in the 5th minute. Subhajit was also on target in the 55th minute before S Murnu scored twice (58', 60+1') to complete the 7-0 rout.
In another Group F fixture, Jammu and Kashmir rode on Sagar Singh's 4-goal feat (7', 21', 25', 45') to notch up an 8-0 victory against Puducherry. Numan (26') and Adnan Mansoor (34') also added a goal each for the winning team besides Unyumm Youssuf scoring twice (28', 39').
In the Group G opener, Tripura thumped IPSC 3-0 as Rajesh (50'), Swapan (51') and Biru (60+2') made their second half efforts count after spending a goalless first half.
Meanwhile in the Group H opener staged at Artificial Turf Ground, Harpreet Singh banged in four goals (10', 26', 29', 30+1') alone to help Haryana open their account with a 7-0 demolition of Karnatka. Raman also produced a fine performance to add twice (15', 47') to Haryana's tally before Kartik Kumar rounded off the scoring three minutes from time.
The match also witnessed Rahil Phawa of Karnataka and Deepak of Haryana send off the field with straight reds in the 22nd minute.
Bihar and Gujarat played out a 0-0 draw in another Group H league match.
