'100 years of introduction of Manipuri dance at Shantiniketan' held at Agartala

Imphal, Oct 30: Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Akademi, Imphal in collaboration with Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura conducted "100 years of Introduction of Manipuri Dance at Shantiniketan" at Town Hall, Agartala today.
The function began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the vice-Chairman of the Akademi, Hijam Tombi Singh while RK Prafullajit Singh, Mayor Agartala Municipal Corporation attended the function as chief guest while Prof N Tombi, Director of the Akademi, L Upendra Sharma and teachers of Shantiniketan attended the function as guests of honour and president, Sahitya Parishad, RK Jitendrajit Singh presided the function.
As part of the function, artists of the Dance Akademi presented a dance drama titled 'Bidai Abhisab' and Basanta Ras to the gatherings.
