Manipur team bag runners up title in Jr Women Natl Weightlifting C'ship

Imphal, Oct 24: State girl's team won a total of 8 medals including 1 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals to clinch the runner's up title of the Junior National Weightlifting Championship 2019 held  under the aegis of Indian Weightlifting Federation at Bodh Gaya, Bihar from October 13 to 22.
Y Shilleinganbi Chanu bag gold in the 64 kg category junior lifting a total weight of 182 Kg , 81 kg in snatch and 101 kg in clean & jerk while P Umeshwar Devi also won silver medal in the same category lifting a total weight of 181 kg including 81 kg in snatch and 100 kg in clean & jerk.
Ch Nirmala lifted a total weight of 162 kg in 59 kg category including 70 kg in snatch and 92 kg in clean & jerk to settle with silver medal while in 71 kg category youth, W Sapana  finished third lifting a total weight of 169 kg including 74 kg in snatch and 95 kg in clean & jerk.
 A Anju lifted a total of 171 kg in the 76 kg category including 76 kg in snatch and 95 kg in clean & jerk to finish second in the competition while in above 81 kg category, M Marlina bagged silver lifting a total weight of 147 kg (64 kg snatch and 83 kg clean & jerk).
In 81 kg category, P Sanathoi lifted 62 kg in snatch and 81 kg in clean & jerk to clinch bronze lifting a total weight of 143 kg while K Nomila also bagged bronze in 49 kg category lifting a total weight of 146 kg (65 kg in snatch and 81 kg in clean & jerk).
