Successful candidates dismayed

IMPHAL, Oct 21 : Expressing dismay after the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Main) Examination of 2016 conducted by the Manipur Public Service Commission was quashed recently, 82 successful candidates who have been given appointment have stated that this could be a big blow to the future of the innocent candidates, who had been declared successful and devotedly served the State at their best level.
Speaking to The Sangai Express some of the successful candidates said that cancelling the entire examination of 2016 and annulling the appointment of the candidates who have been holding different, important posts due to the ‘lapses and irregularities’ of the MPSC is robbing them of their dignity and right to work.
On the comparison drawn with the Assam PCS scandal of 2016, the successful candidates said that  out of the 200 candidates selected by the Assam PCS, 19 candidates were booked along with other officials who were involved in corrupt activities as per the CBI inquiry.
However the entire examination conducted by the Assam PCS was not quashed, they said and added that the very act of booking 19 candidates and some officials meant that none of the innocent candidates were made to suffer.
It would have been better if the CBI investigation had been ordered earlier, so that the innocent, successful candidates could have at least been saved, they said.
