Awareness programme on 'Socio-Economic and Educational Scheme' held

Senapati, Oct 20: The Good Samaritan Foundation, Senapati has organised a one day awareness programme on 'Socio-Economic and Educational Scheme implemented by Minority Affairs, Govt of Manipur' at Samaritan Public School Complex, Angkailongdi, Senapati under the sponsorship of Manipur State Minority Commission.
The awareness programme was graced by Md Anwar Hussain, Chairman Manipur State Minority Commission as the chief guest and Kharga Tamang, member Manipur State Minority Commission as the guest of honour while Abdul Hakim Saha, Secretary Manipur State Minority Commission and various village leaders of the region were also present in the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Aaron Tao, vice-Principal, Samaritan Public School lauded the department for availing scholarships to many students of the school from MOBC.
Jonathan Tao, social worker while appreciating the department for their service urged the gathering to ask any query to the members present in order to avail different schemes.
Abdul Hakim Saha, Secretary Manipur State Minority Commission, in his inaugural speech, mentioned about the various welfare schemes provided under the Ministry of Minority Affairs for the minorities living in the country.
Kharga Tamang, member Manipur State Minority Commission urged the people to take the advantage of the various schemes like the pre-matric scholarships and post matric-scholarships provided for the welfare of the students. He said that students can now apply such schemes online through the website www.minority affairs.gov.in under National Scholarship Portal.
Md Anwar Hussain, Chairman Manipur State Minority Commission also spoke on the occasion.
