Cops summoned

IMPHAL, Oct 16 : The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Imphal West today issue summon order to 9 police personnel on the alleged fake encounter/extra judicial killing of Thangjam Thoithoi @ Anilkumar of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai on January 14, 2012 evening along Mayai Lambi junction at Narankonjin Chandranadi inter-village road under Wangoi Police by a combined team of Imphal West commando, Imphal East commando and 18 Sikh Regiment.
The summon order was issued after taking cognizance of the charge sheet submitted by CBI/ SIT today and directed them to appear before the Court on November 4.
The charge sheet was submitted by IO of SIT Manipur L Hangsing, Additional SP CBI ACB Imphal after the completion of the investigation against the police personnel.
The cops include Jamandar Laitonjam Bibekananda of Kongba Bazar, Sub-Inspector Laikhuram Lenin of Kongba Laikhuram Leirak, Head Constable Ronra Mataisang Shimray of Ngainga village Ukhrul, Head Constable Moirangthem Kiran s/o Mani of Tentha Khunou Awang Leikai, Jamandar Arambam Sunder of Nagamapal Soram Leirak, Rifleman Nongthongbam Brajamani, Head Constable Aribam Captain Charma, Head Constable Thokchom Amarjit of Kanto Sabal Leikai Leimakhong and Constable Huidrom Indrakumar of Singjamei Wangma Keshtri Leikai.
The submitted charge sheet of CBI/ SIT mentioned that investigation was taken up as per the direction of the Supreme Court order on July 14, 2017.
As per the direction of the Supreme Court an instant case was registered on February 27 last year in respect Thangjam Thoithoi @ Anikumar on January 14, 2012 by the combined team of 3rd IRB, Imphal West Commando, Imphal East Commando and 18th Sikh Regiment.
