NPO opposes

IMPHAL, Oct 12: Objecting the plans to erect memorial stone with inscription "in defence of our ancestral land and freedom" on the commemoration of Anglo-Kuki War 1917-19 at alleged Naga ancestral land on October 17, Naga's People Organisation (NPO) has urged the State Government to intervene and take up neccesary action at the earliest.
A press release issued by NPO also appealed all the surviving elders of the Kuki community to advise the organiser of the commemoration that the entire erstwhile Manipur North district was Naga ancestral land and continue to be so notwithstanding change of nomenclatures.
