Documentaries from NE to be screened in Japan

GUWAHATI, Oct 11  : Altogether 10 documentaries from the North East will be screened at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival (YIDFF) 2019 which got underway on Thursday.
The festival will be organized by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation as a part of their ongoing initiative, Preserving and Sharing the Histories and Memories of North East India.
Besides Floating Life, a documentary by Haobam Paban Kumar, a National Award winning filmmaker from Manipur, three documentaries by Aribam Syam Sharma, Orchids of Manipur, Yelhou Jagoi: The Dances of Lai Haraoba and The Monpas of Arunachal and two by Tarun Bhartiya, When the Hens Crow and Not Allowed, will be screened too at YIDFF.
Old Man River by Gautam Bora, The Broken Song by Altaf Mazid, MNF: The Mizo Uprising by Napoleon Thanga, An Autumn Fable by Pinky Brahma Choudhury, What the Fields Remember by Subasri Krishnan, In the Forest Hangs a Bridge by Sanjay Kak, New Rhythms in Nagaland by Prem Vaidya, Prayers for New Gods by Moji Riba, Songs of Mashangva by Oinam Doren and Tales from Our Childhood by Mukul Haloi, will be screened at the event.
