IMPHAL, Apr 4: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has expressed strong objection against the inclusion of tribal persons in the State Level Committee on Delimitation constituted by BJP, Manipur Pradesh.
TYCM has also raised strong objection against the stand taken by BJP, Manipur Pradesh regarding delimitation.
TYCM has urged the three tribal individuals (Dipu Gangmei, Jonathan Tao and Preshow Shimray) appointed to the committee to clarify their positions.
Acceptance of appointment to this committee implies concurrence with the party’s resolution opposing the delimitation, which runs contrary to the interests and aspirations of the tribal populace of Manipur, the TYCM said in a press release.
It went on to claim that the Government of India had already rectified the anomalies, errors and flaws in the census of 2001 of Manipur State and published it in the official gazette notifications of India.
