IMPHAL, Apr 4: A hand grenade was placed at the residence of Manipuri singer Raju Nong at Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai under Imphal police station by some unidentified persons this morning.
The hand grenade was found lying at the residential gate of Adhikarimayum Raju Nong s/o A Maipaksana of Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai.
Soon after getting information about the hand grenade, a team of Imphal Police Station arrived at the spot and cordoned off the area.
The hand grenade was safely picked up by a bomb disposal squad of Manipur Police at around 9.28 am and safely disposed of at Lamphel dumping site at around 10.50 am, said sources.
