IMPHAL, Apr 2 : Security forces arrested one person along with dozens of bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor from Tengnoupal yesterday. The arrested person has been identified as Jamminthang Haokip (28) of Canan Veng Moreh Ward number VII and from his possession 72 bottles (half) of Indian Made Foreign Liquor were seized. He has been handed over to Tengnoupal police station along with the seized liquor.
Additionally, one cadre of PREPAK-Pro identified as Moirangthem Roshan (40) of Chairel Awang Leikai was also arrested yesterday from Aihang Village under Waikhong police station in Kakching district.
It is alleged that the arrested person was involved in extortion activities in and around Wangoo Chairel and Pangaltabi areas. One mobile phone was seized from his possession.
As usual, search operations were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts, recovering a cache of arms and ammunition from Sajirok under Patsoi police station.
The recovered arms and ammunition include one SLR gun along with a magazine, one single barrel gun, three 9mm pistols along with three magazines, one empty magazine of AK rifle, two defective magazines of INSAS rifle, five live rounds of 303 ammunition, ten blank cartridges of .303, five tear smoke shells, one hand grenade, four smoke grenades, one stun grenade and some protective gears. The recovered arms and ammunition have been handed over to Patsoi police station.
