LPG transporters boycott tender

IMPHAL, Apr 1: LPG transporters affiliated with the All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters Association (AMBTA) have decided not to submit any bid till April 15 with regard to the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) issued by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to select transporters for transporting LPG to the Sekmai Bottling Plant. AMBTA held a meeting at Hotel Nirmala this afternoon and adopted a decision to this effect.
The meeting presided by AMBTA president A Tamphayai deliberated on the failure of IOCL to publish a corrigendum on the terms and conditions of the Notice Inviting Tender the corporation issued earlier. AMBTA and IOCL officials held a pre-bid meeting on March 18 where AMBTA representatives raised a strong demand for modification of the terms and conditions of the tender notice. With IOCL not issuing any corrigendum to the terms and conditions of the tender notice so far, the meeting held today decided not to submit any bid till April 15.
