Drug traffickers, poppy cultivators arrested

IMPHAL, Apr 1: Six drug traffickers were arrested by police on March 29, 2025 in connection with a case registered at Kangpokpi police station.
The arrested drug traffickers have been identified as Khaikahao Kipgen alias John (40), Letgoumang Touthang alias Amon (33), Aabi Baral (28), Jitten Kharka (22), LH Ranirou (42) and Leah Chao (44).
174 soap cases of brown sugar were also seized from their possession.
The drug traffickers were travelling in a four-wheeler when they were arrested during a frisking and checking exercise on Imphal-Dimapur highway.
Manipur Police also arrested four poppy cultivators in connection with a case registered at Kangpokpi police station regarding illegal poppy cultivation in Songjang village, IT Road, Kangpokpi district.
The arrested poppy cultivators have been identified as Janggoulen Kipgen (41), Letginlal Kipgen (41), Kamginlen Kipgen (25) and Thangminlen Kipgen (34).
