Six hurt in brawl

IMPHAL, Mar 29: At least six people were injured in a brawl between two clans which started from a financial dispute among a group of construction workers.
The incident happened at Sangaiyumpham, Thoubal district under Thoubal police station on March 28.
The two clans involved in the brawl are Phundreimayum and Aribam. Both the clans are said to have strong presence in Sangaiyumpham area.
The clash between the two clans resulted in injuries to three persons from each group.
On the Phundreimayum side, Md Salaouddin (35) of Sangaiyumpham Nungphou, Md Azad Khan (45) of San-gaiyumpham and Md Juneid (22) of Sangaiyumpham Nungphou sustained injuries on their heads.
As Azad Khan’s condition was serious, he was referred to RIMS Hospital from Thoubal District Hospital.
On the side of Aribam clan, Md Sarif (27), Md Qudush Khan (20) and Md Farik Khan (15), all belonging to Sangaiyumpham Nungphou Mamang Leikai sustained injuries.
