Nutritional food given to TB patients

THOUBAL, Jan 15: As part of the 100-days Intensified Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Campaign, under National TB Eliminating Programme, the District Administration, Thoubal in collaboration with National TB Eliminating programme, Thoubal district distributed various nutritional foods to TB patients of Thoubal district.
During the distribution ceremony held at the conference hall of the DC office, Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash, Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal stated that the nutritional foods were distributed under the Nikshay Mitra Poshan Yojana scheme.
Besides medication, the TB patients need nutritional food for at least six months, he added. Therefore the nutritional foods were distributed to the patients with the help of Nikshay Mitras, added Subhash.
Extending gratitude to the Nikshay Mitras, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the nutritional foods were distributed with the support from Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayat chairpersons and members of Thoubal district, who act as the Nikshay Mitra of the district.
The event was also attended by District Zilla Parishad, chairperson, Kh Sobha, Charangpat Zilla Parishad member, Sougrakpam Japan, Leirongthel Ningel Gram Panchayat chairperson, Salam Kumar, Wangbal Gram Panchayat chairperson, N Somarendro, District TB officer, Dr Shameen and District TB coordinator, Thongam Stephee.
