Meeting held to promote Meitei Mayek

IMPHAL, Jul 26 : In continuation of its effort to promote Meitei Mayek, the Meetei Erol Eyek Loina Sillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) convened a meeting with the All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) and Editors Guild Manipur (EGM) at Manipur Press Club on Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by Khogendra Khomdram, Editor of The Sangai Express (Manipuri edition).
According to a release issued by MEELAL, the meeting deliberated on various issues such as challenges faced by local newspapers in expanding the use of Meitei Mayek due to the ongoing conflict.
After thorough deliberations, MEELAL, EGM and AMWJU resolved to maintain the status quo agreed upon in previous meetings.
It was also decided that MEELAL will continue to monitor the inclusion of Meitei Mayek content in each publication of local newspapers.
Furthermore, the meeting agreed that Meitei Mayek should be included in all advertisements, with the exception of those originating from outside the State.
