CM highlights key issues to 3 Central leaders

IMPHAL, Jul 26 : Chief Minister N Biren met at least three key Central leaders in New Delhi today.
The Central leaders who the Chief Minister met were Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
Apart from the unrest in Manipur, N Biren held discussions on the railway project and the roads affected by recent floods in Manipur with the Union Ministers.
Notably, N Biren is in New Delhi to attend a NITI Aayog meeting and a Chief Ministers’ Conclave, which will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He uploaded a series of posts on his Facebook wall about the meetings with the Central leaders.
During the meeting with Rajnath, N Biren discussed the situation in Manipur.
He also requested the Defence Minister to handover the Koirengei Airfield land to the State Government expeditiously.
In a Facebook post, the Chief Minister  wrote, "It was a pleasure meeting the Hon'ble Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh Ji, in New Delhi, today. We had an in-depth discussion about the situation in Manipur.
"I also requested Shri Rajnath Singh Ji to expedite the handover of the Koirengei Air Field land to the State Government."
The Chief Minister, in his meeting with Ashwini Vaishnaw, urged the latter to complete the railway works undertaking at Noney, Khoupum side and the final leg of Jiribam-Imphal railway line from Imphal as soon as possible
"Had a meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji at New Delhi.
"Key Points Discussed : To complete the railway works undertaking at Noney, Khoupum side as soon as possible.
"Completion of the final leg of Jiribam-Imphal railway line and operationalise train service from Imphal at earliest.
"I also extend my gratitude to Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji for the first consignment of food grains by train at Khongsang Railway Station, Noney District," he said.
During the meeting with Nitin Gadkari, the Chief Minister held discussion on  highways construction and the repairing of the roads damaged in the recent floods in the State.
"Had an engaging meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji in New Delhi.
"Some of the points discussed : Expedite highways construction.
"Repairing of the roads damaged by recent floods in the state," he said. Waari Singbul Network had reported yesterday that the Chief Minister is hoping for a one to one meeting with Prime Minister Narendra to discuss the State's issues and find a tangible solution to restore normalcy.
