FESOK alleges irregularities in faculty appointments at Pravabati College

The Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has raised serious concern over the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of 7 new Assistant Professors at Pravabati College, Mayang Imphal.
A release issued by Y Sumanta Luwang, secretary Education & Library of FESOK alleged that the 5-member Governing Body of Pravabati College has compromised the sanctity of the institution and recruited 7 new Assistant Professors discreetly on contract basis without any advertisement/ notification about the recruitment.
FESOK alleged that the Governing Body has opened 3 new Departments (Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Sociology) in the college and recruited 3 Assistant Professors each for the Department of Biochemistry & Department of Biotechnology on contract basis for a period of 6 months without any advertisement or permission from the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education.
The student body also claimed that the daughter of the Governing Body's Secretary who studied Yoga Science was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical Education on contract basis for a period of 6 months.
Further, FESOK cautioned the Governing Bodies of all Aided Colleges in the State to not abuse their authority and follow proper procedure in recruitment of teachers & other staff at the colleges.
