UCC enter Kakching 2nd Division Football League tourney final

IMPHAL, Jul 24 : UCC, Kakching edged past PFC, Tokpaching by 2-1 goals to book their place in the final of the Second Division Football League Tournament organised by the District Sports Association, Kakching.
UCC, who topped the Group A in the league round of the 9-team competition held at DSA ground, started confidently and put their nose ahead early in the 6th minute thanks to a goal from M Suraj but PFC forged their way back into the game with Kh James finding the equaliser four minutes into the added time before the break (40+4').
It was an end to end affair after the restart with the competition left wide open after the equaliser but UCC had the better of the chances and retained their lead after 67th minute with Ksh Renedy making the most of a chance.
PFC pushed to pull level but UCC defenders were alert enough to keep all threats at bay and eventually saw out the game 2-1.
UCC will meet the winners of the second semi-final match between Group B winners KYWAC and Group A runners SRDC in the final on July 28.
PFC will in the meantime play the losing semi-finalists in the 3rd place match on July 27.
