IMPHAL, Jul 24 : Accusing the Assam Rifles of being in cahoots with Kuki militants, the Manipur Keithel Phambi Apunba Lup (MAKPAL) has slammed the State legislators for continuing to remain as mute spectators on this front.
Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club today, Ibeyaima, general secretary, MAKPAL pointed out that even a notable personality such as PK Mishra, former  Additional Director General (ADG) of Border Security Force (BSF) had recently addressed the alleged collusion of a para-military force with Kuki militants in a TV interview.
Claiming that Assam Rifles is involved in providing aid to "Kuki narco-terrorists", she condemned them for their alleged activities and called for their withdrawal from the State.
"Even as both the Assam Rifles and the 10 Kuki MLAs are engaged in helping the Kuki militants, the remaining 40 MLAs continue to stay as mute spectators", she remarked.
Additionally, MAKPAL president Oinam Bilashini also condemned the State Government for failing to resettle the internally displaced people in relief camps back to their homes. She stated that if left ignored, the voice and struggle of the people will only get louder and might erupt in an uncontrollable frenzy one day.
