VLU bow out of 1st State Level Junior Boys Volleyball Tournament

IMPHAL, Jul 23 : VLU, Wangjing Khunou crashed out of the 1st State Level Junior Boys Volleyball Tournament 2024 organised by Bazar Board Committee, Wangjing Khunou, Kakching district with successive losses.
The tournament organised under the aegis of the All Manipur Volleyball Association began on July 21 and is featuring 12 teams clubbed into three groups.
The day saw, VLU go down 17-25, 16-25, 13-25 to KACO, Kakching Khunou in their first Group D match before they slumped to 14-25, 17-25, 12-25 at the hands of NYVA, Nambol Naorem for the second loss.
A Group A match that was halted on the opening day due to rain was also resumed earlier in the day and BBC who were leading on the opening day saw out the game 25-21, 25-17, 25-13 against KYLSC, Kachikhul.
Later in the day, KYLSC bounced back to beat NYDA, Nungkangching (Lamkang) 25-14, 25-17, 24-26, 25-19 to keep their last-8 round hopes alive.
In a keenly contested Group C league opener, WYSSC, Wangjing Khunou thumped PYC, Nambol Naorem by 3-2 sets. WYSC started strongly but lost the following two sets before staging a comeback and sealed the game 25-19, 14-25, 16-25, 25-18, 15-13.
