Senapati Sporting Club emerge District Level Men's Volleyball Tourney champions

Senapati, Jul 20 : Senapati Sporting Club bagged the championship title at the District Level Men's Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
The tournament was organised by the Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) from July 16 at Senapati. The tournament saw enthusiastic participation from 13 teams representing various villages and clubs from across Senapati district.
In the intense final showdown staged today, Senapati Sporting Club defeated Warriors Volleyball Club to seal the top honour.
During the closing ceremony, Col Aditya Deo, Commandant, 16 Assam Rifles, Maram stated that such volleyball tournaments had earlier been organised in the Maram area, T/Khullen area but at the village level.
He also continued that the event was organised with an aim to promote sports in the region and many such events will be organised continuously in regular intervals.
Col Aditya Deo also encouraged the champions team to keep up the tempo and continue to win more while also consoling the runners up team to not to lose heart and work harder. The Commandant of Assam Rifles also handed over the trophy and cash prizes to the winners and the runners-up teams.
Individual prizes were also extended to Rotciv of Senapati Sporting Club who was adjudged "Best Lifter", Navei of Warrior Volleyball Club who was named "Best Spiker" and  Sakil of Senapati Sporting Club, who was declared "Player of the tournament".
