Moirangkampu bodies fete Thang-Ta medallists

IMPHAL, Oct 9 : Moirangkampu bodies including Moirangkampu Union Club (MUC), Moirangkampu Development Committee (MDC) and Moirangkampu Nupi Thoudang Lup accorded a warm felicitation of Moirangkampu Martial Arts Academy (MMA Top Moirangkampu) Thang-Ta players who participated and won 3 medals to contribute in Manipur's overall title feat at the 30th National Junior Thang-Ta Championship.
The championship was held from October 5 to 7 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
The players who were feted today during a simple programme at Moirangkampu Khewa Bazar include gold medallists Khumbongmayum Rohan (-65 kg : Phunba Ama), son of Kh Romesh and Kh Somola of Moirangkampu, and Yumnam Thoiba (-48 kg : Phunaba Ama), son of Yumnam Deepak and Ningoleima of Moirangkampu Sajeb; silver medallist Mangte Chanchan Kom (-70 kg : Phunaba Ama), daughter of Mangte Yangkhupsou Kom and Mangte Tonu Kom of Takhel Teraphai and participant Soraisham Angoubi (-40 kg : Phunaba Ama).
Speaking at the occasion, vice president of MUC Moirangthem Surkumar said that the players have brought fame and laurels to the locality by winning medals at the National championship. The locality is proud of the young athletes and the activities of the academy that has helped groom the young martial artists , he said while extending best wishes to the academy and players in their future endeavours.
