MU men's tennis team qualify for Khelo India University Games

IMPHAL, Oct 28 : Manipur University men's tennis team have qualified for the upcoming Khelo India University Games as they reached the semi-finals of the East Zone Inter University Tennis Tournament being hosted by KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.
In the pre-quarterfinal match staged today, Manipur University team defeated Centurion University 2-0 to book their place in the quarterfinals before securing a 2-0 win over MG Kashi Vidyapith in the quarterfinal.
In the pre-quarterfinal encounter, Bhicky Sagolshem gave Manipur University a 1-0 lead defeating Amrutjay Mohanty 1-6, 6-3, 3-1 (retd) in the first singles match before Bushan Haobam prevailed 6-1, 6-0 against Subhranil Barman in the second singles match.
Later in the quarterfinal match, Bhicky Sagolshem opened MU's 1-0 lead by beating Anand Prakash 6-1, 7-6 (3) before Bushan Haobam eased 6-0, 6-1 past Faizur Rehman to seal the 2-0 victory.
MU team will play Jadavpur University in the semi-final match tomorrow.
