IMPHAL, Oct 14: Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai has stated that the talk among Meitei, Kuki and Naga legislators being hosted by the Ministry of Home Affairs at New Delhi on Tuesday would be on finding a solution to the protracted violence and restoration of peace in the State.
Speaking to media persons at Imphal Airport before leaving for Delhi today, Awangbow Newmai said that the State Government has been making every effort to find a solution to the violent conflict which erupted on May 3, 2023 and restore peace in the State.
He wished that the talk which would be initiated tomorrow may bring an end to the protracted crisis.
Awangbow Newmai and Mao AC MLA Losii Dikho are among the list of MLAs/Ministers invited by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the talk scheduled at 1.30 pm at 20 Subramaniam Bharti Marg near Khan Market, Delhi.
Losii Dikho who left for Delhi together with Awangbow Newmai remarked that the MHA’s initiative to resolve the inter-community crisis through talks among the communities is highly commendable. He exuded confidence that the talk which would be initiated tomorrow would go in the right track and bring peace and normalcy in the State.
