IMPHAL, Oct 13 : Saying that all National education policies seemingly fall flat whenever implemented in Manipur, Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) president Hijam Roshan has called for the formulation of a curriculum framework which would enable better learning system in Manipur under National Education Policy (NEP).
He made the statement during the 26th foundation day celebration of MSF at Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai.
The observance began by hoisting MSF's flag.
Addressing the gathering, Roshan continued that the NEP 2020 will bring about a holistic development of students if the policy is implemented in full swing across the country.
Saying that students in Manipur are seemingly not getting the benefits of the new education policy, he said that the education system which is enforced in Manipur is inadequate.
It is education which will shape the future of any society, Roshan said.
Stating that what NEP envisions is to universalize the education system of the country, Roshan added that only formulating policy, however, is not enough to reform the education system.
Curriculum and syllabus are the backbone of a good education system, he said and maintained  that curriculum and syllabus should be prepared by taking into account societal needs and expectations.
MSF chief advisor Laishram Lukhoi, former president Kh Gourachandra and former vice president RN Koireng also attended the programme among others.
