Farmers urge Govt to reconstruct damaged dam

Khonghampat Awang Loumi Lup has urged the State Government to reconstruct the damaged dam over Leimakhong river at Kanto area to provide irrigation water to paddy fields at Babu Loukol (agricultural fields on both sides of Pheidinga-Leimakhong road).
The dam provided abundant irrigation water to farmers before it was damaged 4/5 years ago, said the Lup, seeking the attention of the Government to reconstruct the dam at the earliest.
The Lup also appreciated the Government for declaring drought in the State and urged it to take all steps necessary to address the affected farmers.
